Internal Medicine Services

Dr. Kivett is a board-certified internal medicine specialist. To gain board certification, a specialist must have completed at least four years of training following veterinary medical school, and must pass multiple examinations.

We welcome referrals from other veterinarians and enjoy a team approach to diagnosing and treating challenging medical cases.

  • neurologic problems

  • chronic diarrhea

  • weight loss

  • muscle disorders

  • endocrine and metabolic disorders (PPID/Cushing’s, insulin resistance)

  • kidney, liver, and respiratory disease

  • neonatal illness

  • high-risk pregnancy

  • laminitis

  • skin problems

  • endoscopy (stomach, airway, sinus, bladder, uterus, etc)

  • abdominal and thoracic (chest) ultrasound

  • spinal fluid sampling (spinal tap)

  • organ biopsies (liver, kidney, lung, duodenal, rectal)

  • skin and muscle biopsies

  • lung fluid sampling (trans-tracheal wash, bronchoalveolar lavage)

  • abdominocentesis (belly tap)

  • eye lavage system placement

  • melanoma vaccination
